A fantastic museum of a place where European romanticism was born. It was a hause where young Goethe's beloved Lotta Buff lived. In the 18th century in beautiful small town Wetzlar, a young lady Charlotte Buff was Goethe's great love. She was the daughter of the German Order bishop Buff and took care of her over ten younger siblings. Literary Goethe adopted an idea this in "Werther" character. When he picked her up for the famous ball in the town, he fell in love with her and visited her again the next day. He saw Charlotte cut the bread for her siblings. You can see this scene in a painting on the wall of the Lotte Haus. The Lottehaus is now a museum with information on the Buff family, furniture, kitchen utensils, dress, books and other home goods exhibits from the 18th century and information on Goethe's work, especially the "Werther". this house is located directly in the city center Wetzlar, is in a very clean condition, so you directly into the atmosphere of "The Sorrows of Young Werther" immerse and feel good.
